(Terril)– No injuries were reported in a house fire Wednesday afternoon in Terril.
Fire departments from Terril, Wallingford and Milford were called to 207 North 4th Street and found smoke coming from the house. Firefighters gained entry and quickly extinguished the fire. They then ventilated the house and conducted salvage and overhaul operations, while also checking to make sure the fire hadn’t spread anywhere else and was completely out.
Officials say no one was home at the time the fire broke out. There was no immediate word on a possible cause.
The house sustained extensive fire and smoke damage. The Red Cross was contacted and the occupants were able to make other temporary living arrangements.
Other agencies assisting on the scene included the Terril and Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulances, Wallingford ambulance, Alliant Energy, Black Hills Energy, the city of Terril and the Dickinson and Emmet County Communications Centers. The Estherville and Spirit Lake Fire Departments were also summoned for tankers but were canceled en-route.
