No Injuries Reported In Spirit Lake Structure Fire

(Spirit Lake)– No one was hurt in a structure fire this (Saturday) afternoon in Spirit Lake. Spirit Lake Fire Chief Pat Daly tells KUOO news they were called a little before 12:30 pm to a mobile home in the Center Lake area…

“It was at 2408 25th Street unit 81. It was one of the trailers out in Center Lake. When we got on the scene we did have fire showing. They had a lean-to and a little deck out the front door and it was all on fire. We got in there, the homeowner had a garden hose on it, we got him out of the road and we knocked it down. We peeled things back and made sure it was not into the inside of the trailer. We had a little smoke damage inside. We opened some windows, vented it out. We went through with a thermal and made sure there wasn’t any big heat spot anywhere, so.”

Daly says they were able to prevent the fire from spreading to any of the neighboring units…

“It was all right there, right on that little entryway thing. They had a little roof and a little deck there and we got that pulled off right away and stopped it from getting into the roof of the trailer.”

Daly says the cause is under investigation.

Firefighters were on the scene about an hour and-a-half.
