(Spirit Lake)– No injuries were reported in a house fire Thursday evening in Spirit Lake.
Assistant Fire Chief Chris Hoerichs says the Spirit Lake Fire Department was called to 404 8th Street around 6:00 pm after getting several 911 calls regarding a structure fire, with flames coming from the lake side of the home. The Arnolds Park-Okoboji Fire Department was called for mutual aid with manpower and the fire boat to pump water from the lake. Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire which was burning in the attic and in a room on the lake side.
Heavy fire damage was reported to one room, with smoke damage throughout the rest of the structure. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
