(Spirit Lake)– No injuries were reported in a house fire Thursday night in Spirit Lake.
Fire Chief David Kollasch says Spirit Lake firefighters were called to 508 North Hill Avenue around 7:20 p.m. Kollasch says the house was completely engulfed when they arrived on the scene.
Kollasch says the house was pretty much destroyed in the blaze.
He says it appears the fire started in the southwest corner of the house.
The State Fire Marshal was on the scene this (Friday) morning and determined the fire was the result of an electrical problem in a light fixture in a bedroom.
Kollasch says no one was home at the time of the blaze, which was discovered by a passerby.
Firefighters were on the scene nearly three hours.
Officials say the house is owned by Fred Johnson and was being rented by Keith Forshey.
