(Emmetsburg)– No injuries were reported but the driver in a single vehicle crash Monday in Palo Alto county faces several charges.
The Sheriff’s Office says 28-year-old Lee Wegener of Fenton was driving a 2018 Chevrolet pickup eastbound in the 5400 block of 380th Street when he lost control of the vehicle. It struck a guardrail and came to rest on the driver’s side in the north ditch.
Wegner was charged with operating while intoxicated…1st offense, failure to maintain control, and use of an electronic communication device.
The vehicle was totaled. Damage to a bridge was estimated at $10,000.
