Nine NW Iowa Radio Stations, Including KUOO, To Change Hands

(Spirit Lake)– Nine northwest Iowa radio stations and their websites will change hands when 2010 arrives.

KUOO and KUQQ, along with sister stations KUYY FM Emmetsburg/Spencer; KAYL AM and FM-Storm Lake; KKIA FM-Ida Grove/Storm Lake; KSOU AM and FM-Sioux Center and KIHK FM-Rock Valley/Sioux Center, will be owned and operated by Community First Broadcasting of Aberdeen, South Dakota effective tomorrow (December 31st).

The stations had been operated by NRG Media of Cedar Rapids the past five years.

Neil Lipetzky, Community First Broadcasting CEO, also operates Dakota Broadcasting stations KMOM FM and KABD FM and www.dakotabroadcasting.com in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Formed in 2007, the stations have been recognized by the Aberdeen business community for their involvement and assistance with local events, news and charities. In 2009 they received the “Media Mark of Excellence Award” from the American Cancer Society. This past September Lipetzky was named “Broadcaster of The Year” by the South Dakota Broadcasters Association.

Lipetzky has also been involved in radio station sales and management in Sioux Falls and Yankton, South Dakota as well as Norfolk and Wayne, Nebraska.
