(Spencer)– Spencer Hospital is adding another prestigious honor to its list of recognitions. While they’ve been recognized as a Top 100 Rural and Community Hospital in the U.S for a number of consecutive years, Spencer Hospital President Bill Bumgarner says they’ve received an even higher recognition this year…
“Yeah, we’ve been a top 100 hospital for seven consecutive years. This was the first year we’ve been honored as a top 20 hospital. But I think when you look at that in combination it really shows the consistency of performance and outcomes that our healthcare team achieves working together. When you’re looking at that, I don’t know how easy it is, you know, to rank hospitals and that sort of thing, but really how I look at it is it really does show whether you’re in the top 100 or the top 20, that it’s indicating you’re really getting consistent outcomes. And I think it should be, you know, informative to our public that they can place their trust in Spencer Hospital when they’re looking for healthcare services.”
Bumgarner adds it speaks volumes for their healthcare team, medical staff, volunteers and everyone in the local healthcare community…
“You know the pandemic has, with various surges in infections from time to time, that while managing those very important care matters, everyone is still focused on taking care of that day to day business and focusing on new and better systems and processes we can do to ensure quality and high service levels, so. I’m just so proud of what everyone’s accomplished. Healthcare is so important to any community, and, you know, we’re honored to provide those services for people in Clay county and throughout northwest Iowa.”
Spencer Hospital is the only mid-sized Iowa hospital to have earned the distinction as a Top 100 Rural and Community Hospital every year it’s been awarded.
