(Milford)– John Adams, Jr. has been selected as Grand Marshall for this year’s Milford Pioneer Days Parade.
Adams is a 1990 graduate of Okoboji High School. He is an Iowa State University graduate and served as a graduate assistant basketball coach at ISU from 1995 to 1997. In 1998 he became an assistant basketball coach at the University of Tennessee-Martin. Following that he accepted an assistant basketball coaching position at the University of Wyoming until 2007. He and his wife Michelle and family moved back to the Okoboji area in 2007. The following year they purchased the Lakes News Shopper from his parents, John Sr and the late Mary. Adams became a youth coach and served as a volunteer assistant coach for the boys team at Okoboji High School from 2012 until 2014 was the head girls basketball coach in 2014. He retired from the position this past March.
The Milford Pioneer Days Parade gets underway at 11:00 am Saturday, July 27th.
