(Estherville)– A house fire in Estherville has claimed a life.
Fire Chief Travis Sheridan says firefighters were called around 7:22 am Saturday to 219 South 8th Street after a passerby discovered smoke coming from the roof of a residence at that address. A police officer and fire officer arrived and tried to gain entry into the home, only to encounter heavy smoke coming from a ground floor entry door.
