November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A traffic stop earlier this week in Clay county landed two people from Everly in jail on drug charges.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle shortly after 11:00 p.m. Wednesday knowing two occupants in it were wanted on warrants.

24-year-old Jamil Conley and 18-year-old Mercedes Johnson were arrested and booked into jail.

Upon further investigation, authorities charged Conley and Johnson with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor.
