(Lester)– Minor injuries were reported Tuesday in a collision involving a car and a semi on Highway 9 east of Lester.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says 38-year-old Elis Sanchez of Lester was driving a 1995 Chevrolet Lumina and had pulled off the side of the road. Authorities say Sanchez then pulled back onto the road, into the path of a 2010 International semi tractor-trailer driven by 47-year-old David Askelson of Spirit Lake.
Sanchez-Medina was taken to Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids for treatment of minor injuries. No injuries were reported to Askelson.
$3,000 in damage was estimated to the car driven by Sanchez-Medina; damage to the semi driven by Askelson was estimated at $200.
Sanchez-Medina was cited for failure to have a valid driver’s license.
