Another U Of O Winter Games Is History

(Arnolds Park)– Another Winter Games is now in the books. Morgan Strauss of the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce estimates the event drew thousands of people to the Iowa Great Lakes this past weekend. She says that was evident on several fronts…

“Every event was almost sold out. We had over 200 plungers. Chili Cookoff, a record number of participants; Chocolate Classic, it was packed I heard, and everyone just had a great time so we’re really excited.”

Strauss also thanks the sponsors and those behind the scenes who put in the extra time and effort to help make this year’s Winter Games another huge success…

“We’d like to thank all of the city officials, fire and rescue, our police officers, all of our volunteers, everyone from the community that was able to come together and make this all possible. We’re just so excited that we had such a good weekend and that the town was full again.”

Strauss says they’re already looking ahead to the next University of Okoboji Winter Games which will be held January 22nd-25th, 2026.
