Another Reminder Of The Clay County Trail Ribbon Cutting This (Monday) Evening

June 09, 2025

(Spencer)– A special event will be held this (Mon.) evening commemorating completion of a trail connecting Clay county with Dickinson county. Kathy Fueston of the Clay County Trails group says they’ll be holding a ribbon cutting where the connecting trail begins on the far north edge of Spencer…

Tonight we’re going to kick off the Clay county portion of the trail. This event happens at 5:45 tonight on 310th Street, and for those who are not familiar with that, it is the very last kind of building in Spencer before you go out onto Highway 71, Cooperative Energy is where that is. It’s kind of on the Dickinson county line. So we’re going to cut a ribbon there at 5:45. We do have a bike ride included so some people will be riding from North School Park in Spencer up to the ribbon cutting and others will just join us at the ribbon cutting and we’ll ride up to as far as our trail goes to the Dickinson county line through Fostoria and back.”

Work on the first phase of the trail coming out of Dickinson county gets underway this summer.
