(Estherville)– A man who served previously in the position is returning as the Mayor of Estherville. The city council voted unanimously Tuesday to approve the appointment of Kenny Billings to fill the remainder of Adam Edwards’ term, which expires January 1st, 2026. Edwards’ has moved outside of city limits and resigned last month.
Those opposed to the appointment can petition for a special election.
Billings served previously as Mayor but didn’t seek re-election this past November.
Another man, Paul Radmaker, also submitted a letter to the council expressing his interest in serving out the term, but the council gave the nod to Billings. A couple of council members cited Billings’ previous experience as Mayor.
