(Spirit Lake)– A new trial date has been set for a man accused of fatally shooting a woman in February of this year in a parking lot of a Milford business. 25-year-old Christian Goyne-Yarnes was originally scheduled to go on trial May 3rd. That has now been pushed back to August 16th, 2022.

Goyne-Yarnes was charged with 1st degree murder in the death of 24-year-old Shelby Woizescke of Spencer. Goyne-Yarnes is accused of shooting Woizescke twice as she was getting out of her vehicle. She died of her injuries a few days later at a Sioux Falls hospital.

Goyne-Yarnes was arrested about an hour after the shooting on February 3rd. He remains in the Dickinson county jail on a $1 million bond.
