(Okoboji)– A new bank has opened its doors in Okoboji.
Not to be confused with Liberty Bank that used to have locations in the Iowa Great Lakes, Liberty National Bank is officially open. Market President Tim Chapman says the bank has been looking into opening a branch in the Iowa Great Lakes area for some time. “Liberty National Bank has considered coming into the Dickinson county area a number of years ago and had made a couple of attempts to actually come into this market by virtue of acquisition of other institutions and when that looked as if that wasn’t going to materialize, the opportunity came along for the purchase of the building we’re going to occupy. And so the decision was made several months ago to purchase the facility with the idea we would expand an easterly direction from those current market locations we’re in right now which include Sioux City and Sioux Falls.”
Chapman adds that the bank hopes to serve a broad spectrum of the community. “The economic prosperity of the area, which we know is driven largely by the tourism industry but this area has so much more beyond just the tourism element thing including industry such as manufacturing as well as agriculture. So part of our market strategy is to serve the needs of not just any one specific group, but rather the entire market, agricultural families and businesses.”
Chapman notes that a holiday open house is slated for December 14th with a grand opening for the branch to be held early next year.
The new branch location for Liberty National Bank is 1807 Highway 71 North in Okoboji.
