(Hospers)– Fire Sunday heavily damaged a hog confinement about a mile and-a-half north of Hospers.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says authorities were called to the scene a little after 9:00 am. Fire departments from Hospers, Sheldon, Alton, Granville, Boyden and Orange City responded to the scene, and a couple of ambulances stood by as a precaution.
No injuries were reported and authorities say no feeder pigs were lost as a result of the fire.
Damage was estimated at $50,000.
Authorities say the cause of the fire is under investigation.
