(Pocahontas)– A motorcycle accident last week in Pocahontas county injured a Mallard man.
The Iowa State Patrol says 33-year-old Kent Macrunnel of Mallard was driving a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on a county road when he failed to negotiate a curve. The bike slid into the ditch, striking an embankment, causing it to flip. The motorcycle came to rest facing northeast in the ditch with Macrunnel partially underneath it.
Macrunnel was taken to a Humboldt hospital and was transferred by air to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines with what was described as incapacitating injuries.
The motorcycle was totaled.
The crash took place around 5:15 p.m. last Thursday.
