(Spirit Lake)– Many people are wondering how much snow we’ve had so far this season in the Iowa Great Lakes, with more likely on the way.
Statistics show that as of today, Tuesday, March 7th, 51 inches of snow has fallen so far this season at the KUOO studios on the west side of Spirit Lake. Typical annual snowfall in the Iowa Great Lakes is about 42 inches.
A month-by-month breakdown shows 7.3″ fell in November; 15.8″ in December; 19.2″ in January; 7.7″ in February and one inch so far for the month of March (as of Tuesday, March 7th). No measurable snow was recorded in October.
