(Undated)– More hospitals in the area are placing limitations on visitors due to flu and H1N1 concerns.
Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake is limiting visitors to its OB Unit to immediate family members only. And notices on the hospital’s entrances advise anyone exhibiting cold or flu-like symptoms to take special precautions.
Spencer Hospital has also limited visitors to its OB Unit to immediate family only.
And Fairmont Medical Center announced today (Thursday) visits to mothers in its Maternity Ward are being limited to two support people and no one else. No visitors under the age of 18 are being allowed, with immediate family only being allowed into patient care and critical care units, same day surgery and the Lutz Wing Nursing Home.
Hospital officials say the limitations are necessary to protect their patients.
