(Des Moines)– More bird flu has been detected in northwest Iowa, this time in some commercial pullets in Buena Vista county.
Governor Kim Reynolds Friday issued a disaster proclamation for that county as a result. It allows state resources to assist with tracking and monitoring, rapid detection, containment, disposal and disinfection. It also waives regulator provisions related to commercial vehicles responding to affected sites.
Officials again say there are no immediate public health concerns and it remains safe to consume poultry products.
