More Area Roads To Undergo Maintenance Work

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– The list of roads in the area undergoing maintenance continues to grow.

As we reported previously, hot-mix asphalt resurfacing was scheduled to get underway today (Mon.) on a stretch of Highway 18 in Clay county between county road B-19 and Highway 71 near Spencer and County Road N-18 near Ruthven. That work is scheduled to continue through late July, weather-permitting. Traffic will be limited to one lane with motorists assisted by flaggers and a pilot car.

In addition, the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Cherokee construction office announced today (Mon.) maintenance will also be taking place on Highway 18 between Clay County Road M-22 west of Everly and Highway 71 near Spencer; on Highway 71 between Highway 18 and Clay County Road B-19 near Spencer and the junction with Highway 86 on the north side of Milford.

Crews will also be doing maintenance work on a stretch of Highway 71 from near Sioux Rapids to the junction with Highway 18 in Spencer. D.O.T officials say motorists in those areas should expect intermittent lane closures. Traffic will be assisted by flaggers and a pilot car.

The work is scheduled to start May 2nd and will continue through May 27th, weather-permitting.
