November 22, 2014

(Sibley)– Minor injuries were reported Friday in Sibley when a mini van collided with a moped.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says 68-year-old Harlan Doeden of Sibley was driving a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan southbound on 11th Avenue NE and 14-year-old Braden Johnson of Sibley was driving a 2005 Extreme Daytona moped southbound, behind Doeden’s vehicle. Authorities say Doeden attempted to make a U-turn, resulting in a collision.

Johnson sustained minor injuries, but declined treatment on the scene.

$1,350 in damage was estimated to the vehicle driven by Doeden; damage to the moped Johnson was operating was estimated at $400.

The collision took place around 7:00 p.m.
