(Grenville, SD)– A cause of death has been revealed for the Minnesota State Patrol trooper who died at a South Dakota lake. The Day County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Trooper Mollie McClure of the Minnesota State Patrol tragically drowned in an off-duty accident on Waubay Lake, South Dakota on Sunday. Her body was recovered the following day.

Authorities say McClure was boating on the lake when she went for a swim, and did not resurface. No criminal charges have been filed, but an investigation continues.
