(Spencer)– Only minor injuries were reported when a semi flipped onto its side Monday at the intersection of Clay County Road M-27 and 380th Street.
Deputies say the driver, 63-year-old William Stofferan of Spencer, was southbound when he lost control of a 1999 Mack pulling a 2002 Walinga trailer. Both the semi tractor and trailer came to rest on their sides.
Stofferan was taken to Spencer Hospital where he was treated for some lacerations and bruises.
The semi tractor and trailer were both totaled.
Stofferan was cited with failure to maintain control.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Everly Fire and Rescue, Royal Fire and Rescue, the Iowa Department of Transportation and Spencer EMT’s.
The crash took place shortly after 9:00 a.m.
