Minor Injuries Reported In Clay County Semi Wreck

(Gillett Grove)—Minor injuries were reported in a semi rollover Tuesday in Clay county.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 31-year-old Justin White of Ormsby, Minnesota was driving a 2005 Kenworth semi tractor pulling a livestock trailer loaded with hogs southbound at the intersection of Railway Street and County Road M-54 in Gillett Grove when he failed to slow for a curve. The semi tipped onto its side and slid into some power lines, coming to rest in the roadway.

Minor injuries were reported to White who was treated on the scene by Spencer Hospital paramedics.

Damage to the semi, owned by Shane Schofield Trucking, was estimated at $70,000.

White was cited for failure to maintain control.

The crash took place shortly after 11:00 a.m.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Dickens Fire and Rescue, the Iowa State Patrol, Spencer Hospital paramedics, Alliant Energy and several citizens.
