Minor Damage Reported In New Year’s Day House Fire

(Wallingford)– Minor damage was reported in a New Year’s Day housefire in Emmet county.

Wallingford Fire Chief Jarrod Fischer says firefighters were called to 4350 240th Street near Wallingford around 8:23 a.m. Saturday.

Upon arriving firefighters discovered a chimney was clogged with soot and ashes. They quickly extinguished the fire and cleared the chimney.

No damage was reported to the interior of the house with minor damage to the exterior near the chimney.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters were on the scene about an hour.

The Wallingford Fire Department was assisted by the Wallingford Medical Services, Estherville Fire Department and the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office.
