Milford Police Remind Motorists It Is Illegal To Drive Around Barricades

May 03, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Milford)– Milford police are reminding residents not to be driving around the barricades that are in place with the construction on County Road A-34, or 13th Street from Highway 71 to the west city limits.

Police Chief Shilo Brevik says under city code, it is illegal to operate any vehicle on a street or alley temporarily closed by barricades, lights, signs or flares, with the exception of emergency vehicles. Brevik adds affected residents should follow only use the designated detour routes during construction and that thru traffic, including cross traffic, is not allowed.

He adds that parking on a side street or walking to your residence may be required at times during the construction.

Brevik says some adjoining side streets to County Road A-34 are seeing higher volumes of traffic. He urges everyone to use extra caution at the uncontrolled intersections and to be prepared to stop suddenly.
