(Milford)– Police are looking for two suspects in an incident in which a “skimmer” was placed on a credit/debit card reader earlier this week at a Milford grocery store. Skimmers are used by criminals in an effort to obtain credit and debit card information.
Employees of Sunshine Foods in Milford discovered the device within a couple of hours after it had been placed on the register. The incident took place earlier this week but police haven’t indicated exactly when it occurred. Authorities have taken possession of the device and an investigation is underway with the assistance of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the FBI.
Police say they’re unsure if any card data was compromised.
