(Des Moines)– A special honor is being bestowed upon a Milford resident for his rescue of a child from a fire year.
Rodney Stevenson is one of 18 recipients of this year’s Governor’s Lifesaving Valor Awards.
The honor was bestowed upon Stevenson and the other recipients during a ceremony this (Fri.) morning at the Iowa State Fair.
Stevenson was honored for his rescue of a child from a fire last year that claimed the life of another child at the Pioneer Trailer Court in Milford.
Stevenson was nominated for the award by Milford Fire Chief Jim Carpenter.
