Milford Council Approves Revised Plans & Specs For Fire Station

November 22, 2014

(Milford)– The Milford city council Monday unanimously approved plans and specifications for a new fire station.

The revised plans have been scaled back from original ones, which came in at a cost estimate that exceeded the amount of bond money available for the project.

The scaled back plans call for a single story building, instead of a two-story facility. The new plans call for a 17-thousand square foot building with six bays at an estimated cost of 2.6 million dollars. With soft costs added in, the estimated cost increases to 2.86 million dollars.

The council approved the plans and specifications following a public hearing Monday evening that drew no written or oral comments.

Bids are to be received February 12th. The council will act on them February 23rd.
