Milford City Council Discusses Curbs Along 13th Street

April 23, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Milford)– Full curb and gutter will remain in the plans for the re-construction of 13th Street, or County Road A-34 from Highway 71 to the west city limits. Some farmers and truck drivers expressed concern over the full height curbs at an informational meeting held prior to the start of the project, calling for sloped curbs instead. Council members said they recently have received requests from residents living along the road wanting the full depth curbs left in the plans. One of them spoke at Monday evening’s city council meeting…

“It floods down by the Catholic church and then the sewer just backs up and yards are getting wet. It’s coming over sidewalks and for me it runs down into my ditch and water sits in there. I’ve lived there for 34 years and I would really like to have curb and gutter.”

The council took no action Monday evening to change the plans, meaning the full depth curb and gutter will remain as originally proposed.
