Milford City Council Authorizes Expanded Sewer Study For Water Treatment Plant Project

April 26, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Milford)– The Milford City Council Monday evening approved an expanded study of the sanitary sewer system as part of planning for a new water treatment plant. Plans call for the new plant to be constructed just north of the existing one.

The council previously authorized a study of the sewer to the south, but Mayor Steve Anderson says they want to extend the study further to the north, at an additional cost…

“The reasoning for that is that they are looking at possibly being able to run the wastewater from the water plant both directions so that if like the sewer system has a problem to the south, they can move it to the north and the water plant can still operate and they can work on the sewer system.”

The council Monday evening voted 5-0 to authorize an additional $3,500 for the expanded study. That is in addition to the $6,500 approved previously for the study to the south.
