Milford City Council Approves Easement For Drainage Project

May 24, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Milford)– With two members out of town, the Milford City Council Monday voted three to nothing to approve an easement allowing a major project to move forward in drainage district 50, on the city’s northeast side.

The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors, acting as drainage trustees, temporarily delayed the project after learning the cost was going to come in much higher than originally thought due to some buildings that were constructed on top of existing tile lines. Mayor Steve Anderson says this will allow the project to move forward, following city-owned right-of-way…

“The drainage district had looked at going down the city road right-of-way and decided that they’d prefer to get an easement for the long term so that was documented and the city’s willing to work with them to get that easement. This is so when they do put their project in place they will have a permanent place that they can put the pipe. It’s going to, from P Avenue, the intersection of P Avenue and 28th Street, it’s going to go the east of that intersection a little ways, is where the easement area is.”

The Board of Supervisors will also need to sign off on the agreement.
