(Round Lake, Mn.)– A merger of two candy companies will result in the shutdown of the Farley’s and Sathers plant in Round Lake, Minnesota.
Workers found about the closure, which will be done in phases, on Monday.
It was announced last week that a merger had been completed between Farley’s and Sathers owner Catterton Partners and Ferrara Pan of Chicago.
Farley’s and Sathers main office in Round Lake will close in phases beginning this summer and continuing through the spring of 2013.
It’s estimated 50 to 100 people work at the Round Lake facility, which was rocked by job cuts in January 2010 when nearly 175 full-time and some part-time positions were eliminated in the packaging and warehouse operations, as well as in shipping.
