(Spencer) Menards is lending a helping hand to their local communities by being a drop site for non-perishable food items. Jacob Park, who is the store manager at the Spencer Menards, explains what patrons can do…
“All you got to do is come on in and make a purchase from our grocery department. We have plenty of non-perishable food items. You know, cereal, cans of soup, uh, that sort of thing. And, um, once you get through the registers, just drop it off at the box there. Um, and all the donations will go to the Upper Des Moines Opportunity Food Pantry here in town.”
Park also says they get great community support every year…
“We have a pretty good turnout between our food drive, our pet drive and our, um, our toy drive. Uh, I would say we have about the same turnout every year.”
You can purchase the non-perishable food items at Menards and then drop them in the large collection box near the exit doors. All donations from the Spencer Menards will go directly to Upper Des Moines Opportunity. will take donations through March 31st 2026.
