Massive, Slow Moving Late Season Storm Continues To Impact Region

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– A massive, slow-moving late season storm will continue to impact the region right on through  Thursday. Another round of precipitation, mainly rain and freezing rain, is expected to break out across the region by mid-day, continuing through the afternoon. Precipitation will transition to sleet and snow, with lightning and thunder once again possible…especially this (Wed.) evening. Precipitation will change to primarily snow after midnight with 2 to 5 inches likely. Snow will continue through the day Thursday into Thursday evening with additional accumulations likely.

Scattered power outages are occuring across the region due to the freezing rain that fell Tuesday afternoon and evening, combined with the strong northeast wind. Outages will likely continue, with new ones possible, as the day goes on.
