(Fairmont, Mn.)– The 160th Martin County Fair gets underway today (Mon.) in Fairmont and runs through Sunday, August 17th. Fair Board member Nate Amborn says there will be things for people of all ages throughout the week…
“Uh, the bouncy houses for the kids. Again, we have the balloon building where they can go in and see a bunch of smaller livestock. The barns will be full, of course. Um, we got wood carving again this year coming in. Um, we have Peter the stilt walk stilt walker coming in. He’ll be making his rounds around the fairgrounds all week. Um, pretty bird Paradise. Uh, so there’ll be a enclosure where you can walk inside and see a bunch of different birds. And then we have, uh, Lynn the mime. So he’ll be out walking around taking pictures with people throughout the week.“
Amborn says there will also be a wide range of entertainment…
“So Tuesday night we start with great frontier bull riding. This is our fourth year with the bull riding down in Keyser Arena, and Wednesday we have a cover band banger coming in. They, uh, they do Bon Jovi and Journey. Thursday night we have this is new for us, uh, Christian artists. Uh, We Are messengers is their name. So they’ll be on the main stage Thursday night. Uh, Blue Dirt Road Thursday afternoon will be in the arena country band to entertain for a little bit. Friday. We have dueling pianos in the hockey arena at six and then Steel Prairie in the beer garden at eight thirty. And then to finish out the week, we have country music group, uh, Lanco on the main stage.”
