(Manning)– A Manning man is announcing he’ll run as a democrat for the Fifth District congressional seat, taking on Republican incumbent Steve King.
Matt Campbell says he’ll formally announce his candidacy Wednesday with an appearance in his hometown of Manning. Following that Manning will make stops in Sioux City and Council Bluffs.
Campbell is a 1993 graduate of Morningside College in Sioux City with a B.A. double major in political science and economics. He also has a law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law and is a 2001 graduate of Georgetown, University Law Center in Washington, D.C.
Campbell has worked the past 10 years on domestic and international business issues.
Campbell says his campaign will focus on economic development and in supporting policies promoting reform and stability in the financial sector.
