Man With Strong Ties To Region Hired By INHF As It’s First Lakes Area Land Stewardship Director

March 26, 2026

(Undated)– A man with strong ties to northwest Iowa and the Iowa Great Lakes has been hired by the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation as its first Lakes Area Land Stewardship Director. Tanner Bouchard served as Weed Commissioner in Dickinson County the past six years and headed up the county’s Roadside Vegetation Management program through the Dickinson County Conservation Board. He also previously served as a Lake Patrol Officer.

In his new capacity with the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, Bouchard will oversee restoration and stewardship efforts across a 17-county area, including northwest Iowa and Dickinson county.

The Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation has played a critical role in preserving and protecting a number of environmentally sensitive sites in the Iowa Great Lakes.
