(Sibley)– Officials in Osceola county say crews had to fish a suspect out of a gravel pit that was wanted in connection with a sexual abuse case.
Authorities say deputies were called to the Ocheyedan pit around 10:30 last (Wed.) evening after getting a report of a domestic abuse assault.
Deputies say the suspect, identified as 45-year-old Darren Fullerton of Ocheyedan, tried to evade them by jumping into some water in the pit.
The Ocheyedan Fire and Rescue unit was called to the scene and assisted in pulling Fullerton out.
Authorities say they then had to deploy a taser on Fullerton, who was resisting arrest. He was then placed under arrest and was booked into the Osceola county jail on charges of public intoxication, domestic assault and three counts of interference with official acts. Bond was set at $1,500.
