Man Wanted For Rape & Assault In Montana Arrested Locally

November 22, 2014

(Lake Park)– A suspect wanted in connection with an alleged assault and rape of a woman in Montana back in March of this year was arrested earlier this week in Lake Park.

Authorities say 42-year-old Gary Hale, Jr. was arrested Tuesday on a warrant out of Carbon county, Montana. He’s accused of pouring gasoline on the floor of a building around and up to a woman, splashing the liquid over her lower body and then smoking a cigarette and threatening to burn the building down.

Hale was initially arrested in March in Montana for aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping and sexual intercourse without consent. He was also charged with partner or family member assault.

Hale was released on bond March 30th from a Billings jail after posting 10 percent of a $150,000 bond. He was allowed to leave Montana to live with his parents in Iowa. But conditions of his release were revoked after Hale allegedly contacted female witnesses in his case.

Hale was being held in the Dickinson county jail pending extradition to Montana.
