(Spencer)– A Spencer man was injured Wednesday when a dumpster fell on him.
Spencer police say a garbage truck had pulled into the yard of a home under construction in the area of Grand Plaza Drive and 18th Street Southeast to empty a dumpster. Authorities say as the truck was winching up the dumpster, a hook on the passenger side failed. The dumpster slipped off the back of the truck, falling on top of 58-year-old Warren Meier of Spencer.
Meier was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital with injuries to his pelvis.
The incident took place shortly before 10:30 a.m.
