Man In Suspicious White Van Reportedly Approaches Children At A Spencer Elementary School

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– There’s been another report of a suspicious man in a white van approaching children at an area school.

The latest incident reportedly took place early this (Tues.) afternoon at Lincoln Elementary School in Spencer.

Spencer police say they were notified around 12:43 p.m. of an older white van with a white male in his 60’s or early 70’s that had stopped and attempted to make contact with two young students on the playground. Police say two teachers aides were also on the playground at the time and that the man then left. Efforts to locate the vehicle have been unsuccessful.

Spencer police and law enforcement agencies throughout the region remind parents to educate their children not to talk to strangers nor get into a stranger’s vehicle.

Law enforcement authorities in several northwest Iowa entities have had several similar incidents in the last two weeks.

Information regarding the vehicle and/or driver should be relayed to your nearest law enforcement agency.
