(Webb)– A Laurens man is accused of animal neglect in a case out of Clay county. The Sheriff’s Office says deputies were notified back on September 20th of this year of some cattle in a pasture near Webb that appeared to be thin and had no access to a water source. Upon further investigation it was discovered two head of cattle at that same location had died from lack of nourishment and water.
Authorities say 39-year-old Brent Svuba of Laurens was arrested and charged with livestock neglect…a serious misdemeanor. He was cited and was released with a court date.
The Sheriff’s Office says the surviving cattle were moved to another location where they could be brought back to health.
