(Algona)– The man accused of fatally shooting an Algona police officer is seeking to have his trial moved outside of Kossuth county. An attorney representing 43-year-old Kyle Ricke says his client would not be able to get a fair trial in Kossuth county due to publicity.
Ricke was charged in the fatal shooting of Kevin Cram back on September 13th of last year as the officer was attempting to serve a warrant on him. Ricke fled to Minnesota following the incident where he was arrested and brought back to Iowa.
Ricke is currently set to go on trial June 25th.
