(Milford)-A couple of area schools will be receiving some funds from MAMA, or the Midwest All Music Association.
Vice President Dave Schossow says they’ll be presenting a check to Okoboji Fine Arts on Friday.
“Through our fundraising efforts, we donate back to the schools to help support the music departments in the Junior High, and they can buy new horns, they can buy new music, they can buy whatever. On the 26th, we will be donating $1,250 to the Okoboji Fine Arts Junior High, at the Middle School in Milford.”
He adds that they’ll also be donating to some other schools this week.
“We raise funds over in the Armstrong area. The North Union School at Swea City will be receiving $1,000 and they can use that money however they want, and that will be taking place on the 24th of January at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Another school that will be receiving money is the Haywarden Middle School at West Sioux, and they will be receiving $750.”
The nonprofit Association raises funds through concerts and special events to help music departments at the schools.
