(Sioux City)– A Mallard man who conspired to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine and pseudoephedrine has been sentenced to 22 years in federal prison.
41-year-old Kenneth Putensen received the prison term after pleading guilty in April to one count of having been previously convicted of two felony drug offenses and then conspiring to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine; to distribute and possess pseudoephedrine knowing it would be used to manufacture meth; and to possess pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture meth.
At a plea hearing, Putensen admitted that from late 2005 through July 2007 he and others manufactured and distributed over 150 grams of methamphetamine in Palo Alto and Clay counties.
He also admitted to purchasing large quantities of pseudoephedrine in Iowa and Minnesota.
