(Spencer)—A Spencer teen faces charges for allegedly making false reports to authorities.
Spencer police say the 15-year-old male has been charged with two counts of making false reports for allegedly placing calls to police in Spencer and Storm Lake stating that some sort of an emergency was taking place in the two cities. In one instant, the teen is accused of making a false report of an abduction. Upon investigating, police in both Spencer and Storm Lake determined the reports were made up.
The teen was located and charged. He was then released to the custody of a parent, pending an appearance in juvenile court.
