(George)– A man allegedly involved in a disturbance Tuesday evening in George led authorities on a high speed chase that went on for about 15 miles in Lyon county and at times exceeded speeds of 100 mph.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says it all started around 10:15 p.m. when deputies responded to a disturbance at 417 West Michigan in George. While at the residence, authorities say 23-year-old Ryan Klein of George displayed a knife and threatened bodily harm. Authorities say Klein got into his 1998 Pontiac and led officers on a pursuit through the city streets of George. The pursuit, which at times exceeded 100 mph, continued outside of George and continued some 15 miles to Rock Rapids where it finally came to a stop in the 400 block of South Boone Street.
Klein was arrested on the scene on charges of eluding, six counts of failure obey a stop sign, one count of speeding and one count of careless driving.
It was also discovered that Klein was wanted on two valid warrants for an incident on March 25th of this year in George. Klein was also arrested on the warrant charging him with domestic abuse assault and reckless use of a firearm.
Klein is being held in the Lyon county jail on a $2,300 bond.
